Is Calvary Personal to You?

The older I get the more personal Calvary becomes to me! To think, we serve a God who saw the inescapable penalty for our sinful nature, so he took on the nature of a Man, walked the earth for 33 years showing me how to live, how to love, how to forgive, how to treat others, and performed the greatest act of love by laying down his life for me! He died for my sins, his wounds were for my transgressions, the bruises he endured was for my iniquities, he was chastened so that I could have peace in my life, the stripes he took was for my healings; not just a physical touch in my body, but also those stripes allow wounds to be healed in the mind and spirit that life brings our way! He done that for Me, and if you’re unsure this morning-He done all that for you as well! Until Calvary becomes personal, we will never glean the true meaning of being a CHRISTIAN! We will always struggle living for God, because we will feel it’s burdensome to pick up our cross daily and follow him. That cross will always feel like a heavy weight until you realize it was your sins that put him there!!! Someone had to pay the wages of sin, and I’m thankful this morning, we serve a God who paid that debt he did not owe! With revelation of Calvary being personal, that cross we bare daily won’t feel so heavy, as a matter of fact, we will have the power of knowledge that we actually get to partake in his Death-Burial-Resurrection and live the life as an Overcomer-We are more than conquerors through Christ! Why, because of Calvary!!! I pray those who are struggling with living for God this morning will get a grasp of Calvary being personal, it will change your life!

Isaiah 53:4-6,9-12 (KJV)
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither [was any] deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Romans 8:3 (KJV)
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

Galatians 3:13 (KJV) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree:

1 Peter 3:18 (KJV)
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

1 John 2:1,2 (KJV)
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world.

God Bless, JDS
