Over the next two or three weeks, I plan to do a series of writings on The Apologetics of THE FAITH! To dismiss any confusion, the word “Apologetics” is from the Greek origin [apologia] that means “Speaking in defense!” When the Apostle Paul went before King Agrippa and Festus in Acts Chaper 26, he gave a defense of the Gospel he unapologetically preached! He preached with such power and conviction, -King Agrippa uttered the infamous phrase “Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian!” Such zeal for Paul, and such tragedy for Agrippa: Paul handed him the life saving Gospel, but there was no true piety in the heart of a pagan King! We must understand, the Word of God is too precious to cast our pearls before the swine, BUT when we Love Truth, we are admonished to be ready to give an answer for our convictions! We must speak with such zeal, that the world wants what we have. As the Apostle Paul said, -we come not with mans wisdom, but by power and demonstration on the Holy Spirit! Paul and Peter were empowered by the Holy Ghost, and they blazed this world by defending this Gospel!
I Peter 3:15 say’s to “sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”
The word answer in this verse is [Apologia] so Peter is telling us to be ready to defend the Gospel; we must defend our convictions! The only way we’re going to heed the words of the Apostle Peter is by, LOVING THE UNADULTERATED WORD OF GOD! We only defend what we love: I love my family, therefore I’m going to defend them with my whole heart. The crux of the matter hinges on “What is in our hearts?” The reality is, we can go to Church all day long, and not give one care in the world about Truth! In the day and age we live in, it’s vital we know Truth, and even more importantly we must Love Truth! This world can oppress us, mock us, and even pass laws to hinder our freedoms, but they can never take away our convictions! Perhaps, one day we will be forced to choose our convictions over life, and I pray we realize to be absent in body is to be present with CHRIST! Over the next couple weeks, I hope to encourage fellow Apostolics, as well as shed light on many heresies that float among Christendom! With over 33,000 Christian denominatons, The Bible is clear when it proclaims: THERE IS ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM!
God Bless, JDS 🙏
