The Ship of Zion — Moving Forward in 2021

Moving forward in 2021 — the uncharted waters that lie ahead, cannot be navigated without the Lord leading the way. His word tells us, “Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters”… It is a blessed assurance, when we stand on His word — He is going to see us through every situation. Moving forward in 2021, it is essential that we get all the faithless voices 🗣 out of our ship. Throw the weights that so easily besets you — off your ship.

Make sure The Lord is the captain of your salvation. We mustn’t cry out for the Lord to get us out of the storm. No my brethren, we must ensure God is navigating us THROUGH the storm. This is why, “THE OBJECT” of our faith is so essential. Where have we placed our faith and trust? Is it in man, or perhaps self? May each of us find our faith in God, amidst the dwindling days of 2020.

In Matthew chapter Eight, we read where Jesus told His disciples — let us go to the other side (there was work to be done in the country of the Gergesenes.) Such a vivid account, and one that we can all paint in our own minds.

A storm arises, the ship is rocking, waves are crashing all around. The disciples are all panicking, and meanwhile, Jesus is asleep. How can we be as Jesus, and have peace in the midst of our storm? By believing God at His word!

He told His disciples, let us go to the other side, and if Jesus say’s it, then we must believe it. Our faith and peace hinges on our willingness to believe God’s Word for our own life.

Does the government control the situation, or is God still on the throne? Who’s report are we going to believe? The propagandist media, or the word of God? Are we going to be as the ten spies, and believe with our own eyes? Or, are we going to have “another spirit” such as Caleb and Joshua? What separated them, and allowed them to walk into Canaan 40 years later, while everyone else around them died? It was their decision to put their faith and trust in God’s Word. They chose not to believe anything or anyone, apart from the voice of God.

We too, must have that same spirit — We must choose to believe the report of the Lord. Faith is a choice. Trust is a decision. I end with declaring from the mountain top — You cannot survive the storm, without the Church. We ALL need the assembling of ourselves together. Paul admonished, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)

Corporate worship is essential — do not listen to the demonic voices coming from Washington, that say’s church is non-essential. Do not listen to the voice of fear, that has kept you away from Zion. If you’re convinced, you can only get this dreaded virus at church, but not on the job, or Wal-Mart and Target, you’re deceived. I am not advocating recklessness, but I am advocating that you need to really think about what the voices around us have portrayed. Please, by all means, exercise wisdom and caution, but do not forsake your faith for human reasoning. Make no mistake, there is a spiritual battle going on in our world, and there is a plethora of voices which desire to distract us from our mission as Christians. The haze of smoke and mirrors seek to blind us from the real enemy — the enemy of the Cross. The spirit of the anti-christ is running rampant. I offer a word of admonishment as we approach this upcoming year: Know where the object of your faith is. Paul told us, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.” (Hebrews 11:1-2)

Who’s report will you believe going into 2021? We will all choose to place our faith and trust in “something” let it be in our saviour, The Lord Jesus Christ! I love this passage of scripture found in Isaiah:

But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. [Fear not, for I am with you;] I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made….I am the LORD, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.” Thus says the LORD, ✝️who makes a way in the sea✝️ a path in the mighty waters…Isaiah 43:1-7, 15-16 (ESV)

That “way in the sea” is the church of the living God.

It is the Church triumphant!

‘Tis the old ship of zion,
It’s the hope for the lost and dying,
It’s a soul saving station,
It’s the tower of salvation,
It’s the Church triumphant oh Lord,
And it’s built by the hand of the Lord.

I’m talking about church in the book of Revelations,
It’s built on the rock, it’s got a firm foundation,
It’s been through the flood, it’s been through the fire,
But one of these days this church is gonna move up higher,
It’s the church triumphant oh Lord,
And it’s built by the hand of the Lord

It’s been through the storm
But the wind couldn’t turn it
It’s been through the fire
But the fir couldn’t burn it
Been feed to the lions
But the lions couldn’t eat it
Fought many a wars
But never defeated

I’m talking about church in the book of Revelations,
It’s built on the rock, it’s got a firm foundation,
It’s been through the flood, it’s been through the fire,
But one of these days this church is gonna move up higher,
It’s the church triumphant oh Lord,
And it’s built by the hand of the Lord

Well It’s the Church triumphant oh Lord,
And it’s built by the hand of the Lord.
